When to Seek Help
The earlier a person receives treatment, the better chance he or she has in recovery. The best time to seek help is as soon as symptoms appear. However, when people have a problem, they sometimes have difficulty admitting it, or even hide the signs of a problem, which makes it harder for loved ones to realize that something is wrong. If a person is in denial, friends, family, and other loved ones can always stage an intervention to try to get the person to admit he or she has a problem and enter treatment. Interventions can be used not just for drug and alcohol addiction, but for any other behavioral health condition.
Why Choose Intensive Treatment at an Addiction Center of America
Different levels of care are available. Intensive treatment programs at addiction rehab centers, such as the ones at DTRC, benefit a person much more than regular outpatient treatment or occasional psychotherapy. The most intensive program is hospitalization or residential treatment. This is where a person stays at a facility and receives intensive treatment, including individual and group therapy. The next step down is partial hospitalization programs (PHPs), which offer intensive, all day sessions, but the patient can continue to live at home. However, many such programs, including DTRC, offer accommodation. Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) offer treatment programming for 10-12 hours a week, and a person can stay in sober living accommodation or at home.
Intensive programs, whether residential or outpatient, offer support and structure, important components for anyone in early recovery, while also minimizing the stressors and triggers that make the problem acute. By taking the time to tackle a person’s problem and focus on healing, he or she will have a better chance of remaining in recovery. That is why the best choice for recovery is an intensive treatment program. Many people benefit from a continuum of care that begins in a residential program, continues through each lower stage of care, and ends with a strong aftercare program.
The Benefits of a Dual Diagnosis Facility
DTRC is a true dual diagnosis rehabilitation center, which means that we treat all co-occurring conditions concurrently. We are dually licensed to treat mental health and addiction. We also have a multi-disciplinary staff with experience treating a variety of conditions. This provides us with the ability to treat all conditions simultaneously for a more complete care that reduces the risk of relapse. This benefits every patient, even if he or she does not have dual diagnoses. We thoroughly assess every patient upon arrival to assess all underlying and co-occurring conditions and create a customized plan that helps each person with his or her unique problems. We treat the person, not the disorder, which provides everyone with a better chance for a full recovery.
What Does the DTRC Treatment Program Look Like?
DTRC offers residential programs and intensive outpatient programs for mental health, addiction, and dual diagnosis. Our intensive programming includes individual and group psychotherapy. Our group sessions, led by a substance abuse counselor, focus on the issues that often contribute to behavioral health issues, as well as life skills and coping mechanisms. We also provide alternative complementary therapeutic activities such as equine therapy, music therapy, yoga, meditation, nutritional education, and exercise programs. Our programs work on helping the patients not only overcome their problems but also learn how to live a healthier lifestyle, including finding healthy ways to deal with stress. We accept most private insurance plans for an affordable treatment solution, whether for addiction, mental health disorders, or dual diagnosis.
Supporting the Brain in Treatment
Substance abuse and mental health problems can harm a person’s brain chemistry and cognitive function. All the treatment programs at our drug rehabilitation centers include our unique Brain Wellness Program, which combines brain mapping, a neurofeedback technology that rebalances the brain, and Neurobic, a restorative program for cognitive function. Brain mapping uses electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring to identify the imbalances in the brain waves caused by substance abuse or mental health conditions. Once the areas of the brain requiring help are identified, a person undertakes exercises that rebalance the brain’s chemistry. Neurobic utilizes special video games that increase a person’s cognitive abilities. We test all our patients using CogTest to identify any weaknesses, and then develop a program to restore cognitive function with Neurobic. Repairing any damage in the brain supports the rest of the treatment program.
Our program treats the whole person in order to reduce the risk of relapse. Call our Admissions team at (951) 221-4018 to discuss your situation and enroll in our program.
